1/20/13 Six Sentence Sunday featuring Love The Way I Am

Welcome Sixers and friends. I’ve welcomed your comments the past year and a half and hope we can keep in touch when SSS closes the door next week. It’s been a great run. Maybe it won’t end, hmm?

Diane O’Rourke and Tony Flannigan meet again. She’s at home on a Saturday night after working a full shift at the clinic. Alone with BooBoo the cat, she makes herself comfortable before scratching up some dinner.
excerpt in six:
I pulled a colorful print robe over my head so I could breathe and now for dinner.
The husky male voice from the beach, from my fantasy in the shower, called this time from the screen door at the back.
“Diane, it’s Tony from the beach this morning wondering all day how you’re feeling and I hope you don’t mind me stopping by like this.”
Tony Flannigan, oh my God, it’s an omen like money in the bank. “Hey Tony, it just so happens. . .”
and hurried to the screen door to let him into my life.

12/2/12 Six Sentence Sunday featuring Love The Way I Am

Welcome Sixers and friends to December, the shortest day coming soon. Do we care? No. Because after that we add another minute of precious daylight to brighten our lives.

I continue with my short story, Love The Way I Am where the competent, insecure about herself, pediatrician meets the hands-on physical therapist and falls in love. Not exactly. She’s dazzled by Tony Flanagan. Enjoy my six.

excerpt:

“I’m in kind of a hurry to see a client in half an hour and I need a shower after a meeting like this.” Tony grinned and indicated his sand-covered hard body deliciousness where a six pack of ab muscles dared to show through.

The only heat between us would be the Florida sun once I stood up.  I had to be at the pediatric walk-in clinic before long, needed a shower and the tide was rolling in fast. I scrambled around on hands and knees gathering my belongings and finally struggled to a standing position. Clumps of sand fell off my body yet Tony stood there, waiting for me.

11/18/12 Six Sentence Sunday featuring Love The Way I Am

Today we have a beach, a young woman napping, almost buried under a blanket of packed sand with the tide coming in. Welcome Sixers to another adventure in this short story of romance with, of course, complications. Just like real life.

excerpt:

Pain and all the air whooshed out of me as something fell across my body.

A man’s voice deep, concerned spoke in a rush,  “I was running and tripped over. . .well I didn’t realize someone was under the sand and oh God, I hope you’re all right.”

“Oh,” I moaned and tried to get up but the sand held me down and so did he.  I opened my eyes and through the sunglasses saw Antonio Banderas, not really the actor but he sure looked like him. I almost said, “Kiss me before the tide washes away the sand and you’ll run screaming from my fatness,” but I didn’t. I just laid there like a lox on a plate, continued to moan and that’s the moment I fell in love with him: one of the moments.

10/7/12 Six Sentence Sunday featuring Starting Over

Hi Sixers and friends. I value your comments and thanks so much for stopping by. Last week Emily’s husband Patrick promised he’d care for her the rest of his life. He meant well.

excerpt:

High on his perch, the watcher Clifford Lansdale juiced on oxycontin and black coffee, saw the honeymooners on the beach. Obsessed with his Goddess Emily and his plan, he grabbed keys to the restored dune buggy he treasured and headed out for a little ride. Gunning the motor, the buggy sailed over  dunes onto the flat hard packed sand. Course set straight ahead for, oh my, if it isn’t his lawyer dear Patrick Corwin jogging alone and where oh where is she? Ah yes, far up the beach, the lonely quiet beach with no one around and only the fierce wind making all that racket and just a tap to send him sprawling, one tiny tap. Clifford Lansdale geared up high, pedal to the floor and headed straight for the target.

Memorial Day. Only once a year. Not often enough to turn our thoughts and hearts to those who have served our country.

And now my friends, To Be Continued when Beth Malone meets the pool guy, Maverick.

excerpt: A muscular man knocked at the slider doors, tall and rugged in a denim jacket, worn jeans and boots. Beth unlocked the door to slide it open and he entered, his energy filling the room to bounce off the walls.

Is Doctor Malone here, uh don’t mean to be pushy but he always pays first Monday of the season.”

Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry as tears splashed down Beth’s cheeks in front of this stranger, her only confidante. “The doctor is gone, kaput, flew, the coop, like bye bye, hasta la vista, fare thee well, auf weidersehn, have a nice day.”

An awkward moment passed before he said, “I’ll take care of your beautiful pool.”

Wishing everyone the happiest Easter on this glorious Sunday. Many thanks to those who leave constructive comments. I appreciate your valuable time. And now for a new book, STARTING OVER.

Unaware of binoculars trained on her every move, Emily Kendrick runs fast on the hard-packed sand of St. Augustine Beach. Alone on this early morning, tears spill down her tanned face as she runs to heal her heart  still heavy from the recent loss of her husband. A lone runner reaches Emily’s side.  The watcher slams binoculars into the widow’s walk perch high above from his vantage point.

Excerpt: She ran as fast as she could on the hard packed sand this early morning in February, still cold in St. Augustine, Florida.  Always surefooted, not as steady since Larry died eight months before, Emily Kendrick stumbled and caught her balance. There was a sense of someone watching her, close to her, yet she ran into no one on the deserted beach. Tears spilled down her face just as the hurdles set for the track team came up. Easy leap over the first one, the second knocked over by a careless foot and Emily fell; she didn’t get up.

Welcome to my new website and SSS. Thanks to all who comment and leave constructive comments. I appreciate your time and effort.

This week in RECONSTRUCTING CHARLIE, Charlie experiences her first orgasm.

Excerpt:

Tentative at first, as if we’d never kissed before and then more urgent, Tom didn’t do anything but caress my back and arms with sensual stroking and somehow in a public place, I caught fire. Our tongues started a rhythmic sucking, slow then faster as heat spread through my body. I moaned as shocks began in my most guarded private core and rocketed through me. Is this what kissing him did to me? Weak and breathless, I fell against him and whispered, “What happened?”

“I think, my Charlie, you experienced an orgasm.”
